Movie Night at the Museum

Join us for our first series of Movie Night at the Museum. There will be a public screening of the much-anticipated seventh season of ART21 Art in the Twenty-First Century, the Peabody Award-winning PBS broadcast series at MarinMOCA beginning October 30, 2014.

Providing unique access to some of the most compelling artists of our time, the new season features a dozen artists from the United States, Europe, and Latin America, and transports viewers to artistic projects across the country and around the world.

Over 4 Thursday evenings, beginning October 30th, and ending November 20th, we'll visit locations as diverse as a Bronx public housing project, a military testing facility in the Nevada desert, a jazz festival in Sweden, and an activist neighborhood in Mexico where the artists reveal intimate and personal insights into their lives and creative processes.

Doors open in the War Room upstairs at MarinMOCA at 6:30pm, film starts promptly at 7pm. Come early, get your popcorn and a good seat, and join with friends and fellow artists for what promises to be an unique art happening at MarinMOCA.

The themes to be explored over 4 videos are: Investigation, Secrets, Legacy, and Fiction with artists: Tania Bruguera, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Leonardo Drew, Omer Fast, Katharina Grosse, Thomas Hirschhorn, Elliott Hundley, Graciela Iturbide, Joan Jonas, Wolfgang Laib, Trevor Paglen, Arlene Shechet.
