Studios

. . . pioneering a collaborative model between artists and museums

The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art campus includes over 50 artist studios in four buildings. Visitors to the studios will see artists working in a variety of media, from oil paint and watercolor to ceramics and metal.

To catch a glimpse of the artists at work, stop by the first weekend in March and November for Open Studios, sponsored by MarinMOCA. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch artists at work, see artist demos, ask questions, and purchase handmade art by local artists.

Interested in renting a studio? MarinMOCA rents studios in the 781 building. Studios range in size from 127 – 321 square feet, and in price from $275 - $800 per month. Artists have access to kitchen space (full size refrigerator and microwave) and the MarinMOCA classroom, and participate in rotating exhibitions in the entry gallery to the 781 studio building.
