Star Book

Saturday, October 25; 10am to 2pm

Instructor: Bibi Summer

Create a beautiful three-dimensional star book that tells your personal story. You may create a book with contrasting colors, sizes, and shapes, or a story-telling book that holds a visual narrative within each of the five frames. The star book is based on a triple accordion fold that will open into a 360-degree star.

This workshop will challenge your visual perception, and you will learn bookmaking terminology, how to sew a pamphlet stitch, and how to use various bookmaking tools.

The instructor will provide papers and glue.

All ages are welcome, and no experience is necessary.

You will be asked to bring:

- Scissors

- Self-healing cutting mat

- Straight edge or 12- to 18-inch cork-backed metal ruler

- Mat knife

- Bone folder

- Pencil and eraser
