Collage Three Ways
Two Saturdays, December 6 & 13; 10am to 4pm
Instructor: Janet Bogardus
Join us for a two-day workshop where you will learn to reimagine existing images by dis-assembling them and adding diverse elements to form completely new works. You will apply collage techniques to transform these into dynamic works that express a personal vision.
The instructor will give a history of collage and an overview of current artists using collage in their own practice. You will be instructed in the basic ideas and examples of composition that are fundamental to collage-making, but are also key to any visual art project.
You will be using photo portraits (family members), images from books or magazines, images of paintings, and maps.
The instructor will be providing images but encourages you to bring your own photos and images to experiment with.
Beginners are welcome and no experience is necessary.
