Color Mixing Workshop
Friday, December 5; 1pm – 4pm
Instructor: Jasper Wilde
This intermediate-level workshop is designed for painters ready to extend beyond basic color theory and refine their palette-building skills. Through guided mixing exercises you will explore harmonization techniques using grays, mud, and unifying “mother” colors. You will walk away with customized color wheels, advanced mixing charts, and a deeper understanding of how to create cohesive and expressive palettes in your own work.
Designed for 14 years and above, this workshop is perfect for those seeking greater control, depth, and intentionality in their painting practice.
You will learn:
- Essential color theory concepts using provided visual guides
- Limited palette mixing by using just two colors plus black and white to create a balanced range of hues
- To create mud (on purpose!)
- To harmonize colors by incorporating a neutral base into your mixtures
- To build a custom color wheel by mixing and mapping out secondary, tertiary, and tinted colors from your own primary selection
