Charm School: Resin Charm-Making Workshop
Sunday, October 19; 1pm to 4pm
Instructor: Lara Starr
Transform meaningful pieces of ephemera into beautiful keepsake charms. Resin charms are little metal frames that may be filled with gems, bits of paper, beads . . . anything tiny. An earring that has lost its mate, a ticket stub, fabric from a beloed piece of clothing, a photo of a loved one, or petals from a tiny flower - all can be incorporated into an exquisite charm that can be taken home on a necklace cord, keychain, or pin.
The instructor will provide the tools and the bezel frames and will also bring beautiful papers, beads, glitter, and trinkets. A big part of the fun is choosing from her collection. You will bring home five to seven charms (or even more!).
You are also welcome to bring: A stamp from a special letter, Glitter, Tiny gemstones, Scrabble pieces, Marbled papers, Sequins, Playing cards, & Leaves.
Lara made her first charm at Maker Faire and was . . . charmed! Since that time she has hosted events at community college extensions, recreationn and community centers, and private homes. She has inspired many who believed that they were "not creative" and watched them be transformed from cautious to confident in the short space of a workshop.
