Demystify watercolor and discover how fun painting can be! You will gain an understanding of how watercolor behaves and have fun experimenting with different easy, abstract exercises and techniques.

You will learn basic color theory, the wet into wet technique, the dry technique, and how to mix colors and build darker values through glazing.

No drawing or art experience is needed, and you will begin to develop the skills to create the effects that you desire.

Ilah Jarvis has taught watercolor all over Northern California for over twenty years, including at Studio One and The Richmond Art Center. She has exhibited her watercolors nationally and received a month-long residency at the Fundacion Valparaiso in Mojacar, Spain in 2003. She is a graduate of the California College of Arts (and Crafts) and is passionate about watercolor and the art making process. She encourages her students to challenge themselves creatively and to develop their own unique styles.
