Create beautiful papier mâché sculptures in this two-day workshop as you explore forms, shapes, and surfaces.

You will be guided through a material exploration of Ali Vaughan’s papier mâché and wax process, using sculpture materials from Douglas and Sturgess. You will create forms by manipulating pieces of cardboard and glue, experiencing the ways that cardboard can provide a fast and easy entry point into the concepts of form and space.

On the second day of the course, you will learn different ways to address the surfaces of your sculptures using paint, pigment, wax, and other materials. You will have an opportunity to get “painterly” with sculpture and discover the way surface and form can interact in an artwork.
