Inspired by the color exercises of Josef Albers, Ana Bianchi brings her own interpretation of these exercises to help you discover unexpected palette combinations and learn to develop a more intuitive and adventurous relationship with color. You will be guided through a playful session of mixing and matching to discover and create limited color palettes in combinations you may not have considered before, and you will create a mini library of palettes to use both in class and in future work. Ana will demonstrate how to mix nuanced, hard-to-achieve colors and will share her favorite techniques for creating rich, vibrant colors on paper. In the final hour, you will select one of your newly created palettes and use it to create a finish a watercolor or gouache.

Originally from Mexico, Ana Bianchi is an artist, designer, illustrator, and twice published children’s book author/illustrator. With degrees in both graphic design and fine arts, her over 35 years of creative work spans across disciplines that include printmaking, ceramics, illustration, surface design, graphic design, and branding, from local restaurants to major airlines. Her lifelong love of color is what connects it all.
