Learn to transform books into beautiful and meaningful three-dimensional sculptures with Adrienne Biggs, the originator of Bookagami.

Bookagami is the meditative practice of folding books into sustainable art, using the unique combination of origami, altered books, and the principle of circular economy, which emphasizes reusing existing materials, allowing you to make a personal impact on waste, pollution, and climate change.

In this interactive and self-paced workshop, you will learn up to seven "folds" using just your hands and a simple folding tool which is provided. No glue, no scissors, no stress! You will create 2-3 art pieces to take home or give as gifts. Note: No books are harmed in this process!

Adrienne is a MarinMOCA member and has taught at Mystic, Book Passage, Ground Goods, and Pint Size Lounge. Her past exhibits include Artworks Downtown, the San Rafael Public Library, Town Books, Marelli Shoe Repair, ACCI Gallery in Berkeley, and Friends School in San Francisco. Her upcoming solo show will be in November and December at Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael.
